Atlanta Festival Ballet School's Intensive Division is designed to give the student a serious and professional approach to ballet.

ENTRANCE TO THE BALLET INTENSIVE DIVISION IS BY AUDITION ONLY.

Once accepted  into the Ballet Intensive Division, the student and his/her parents must abide by the regimen and course of classes, rehearsals, and performances set out by the directors.  The Ballet Intensive Division students are given the privilege of performing alongside Atlanta Festival Ballet Company professionals in each of the two full-length ballets and two repertory shows produced by Atlanta Festival Ballet Company during the year.  Within the seven levels of study, students acquire an understanding of ballet terminology, build dance technique and develop artistic skills in a program of intensive class work.  Placement in Ballet Intensive Division is by invitation only.

Ballet I Division
Ballet II, Beginning Ballet III

Students in the Ballet I Division, 6 years of age and older, attend a minimum of two classes per week.  Emphasis is placed on fundamental ballet movements and developing creative movement.  Students placed the Ballet II and Beginning Ballet III levels will receive instruction two - three days per week.

Trainee Division
Ballet III, Trainee I, Trainee II

Students in the Trainee Division, typically 8 years of age and older, attend classes in ballet technique and pointe (or for pointe novices, preparatory pointe).  The instruction will focus on precise technique, body alignment, muscular control, and fluidity of movement.

Pre-Professional Division

The Pre-Professional Division is programmed to meet the needs of the accomplished dance student.  Students are scheduled for classes in ballet technique, pointe, variations, and pas de deux.  Pre-Professional Division students meet for classes 4 or 5 days per week, with rehearsals for 2 hours in the evenings and are required to attend all Atlanta Festival Ballet Company professional rehearsals.
